Agency Scoping  

 

 


ADEC

Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation

Hazardous Materials - We have researched the ADEC Contaminated Sites, Spills, and LUST program databases and any findings are identified in the scoping letter and/or Appendix A.  If you know of any other confirmed or suspected contaminated sites, spills and any registered underground or above-ground fuel storage tanks that may affect or be affected by the proposed project, please provide that information.

Water Quality - Please identify any water quality concerns your agency might have with the proposed project.

Solid Waste and Wastewater - We believe that the hill adjacent to the M&O station pad was used as a solid waste disposal site by Alyeska at one time.  Please provide information about any other existing (permitted or unpermitted) solid waste landfills, dumps, discharges, or sewage lagoons in the project area.


Alyeska Pipeline Service Company

Please identify any concerns you have with the project.

Bureau of Land Management

Please identify any concerns you have with the project.


SHPO

Regional Corporations, IRAs and Traditional Councils

Area of Potential Effect (APE) - We have defined the APE to include the pad of the M&O station described in the introduction to the scoping letter and the existing material site described in the material site section of the scoping letter.  Areas beyond these boundaries would not be affected by the project.

Historic or Cultural Sites - Within the project APE we found previous historic or cultural sites which had already been mitigated and destroyed (see Appendix A).  No further survey is planned.  If you know of any confirmed or potential archaeological, historical, cultural, or religious sites that the proposed project may affect, please provide that information.


USACE
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Permits - We do not believe any permits or clearances from your agency will be needed for the proposed project.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

USFWS

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

T&E Species - We have researched the USFWS website with respect to known threatened and/or endangered species and their habitat for the project area and any findings are identified in the scoping letter and/or Appendix A.  If you have any other information on threatened and/or endangered species in the project area that might potentially be affected by the proposal please provide that information.

Wetlands - We have researched the USF&WS National Wetland Inventory Maps with respect to identifying wetlands in or adjacent to the project area, and any findings are identified in the scoping letter and/or Appendix A.  If you know of any other wetlands that may be impacted by the project, please provide that information.

Wildlife Habitats and Migration - Please provide information on important wildlife habitats or migration corridors potentially affected by the proposal.

Eagle Nests - Please provide information on known active or inactive eagle nests in the project area.
